Kenneth F. Kurras
Since his graduation from the Savannah College of Art and Design, Ken Kurras has worked in the field of Visual Effects over 24 years. He has worked in many roles from International Lighting Lead to Art Department TD. He was part of the team at Industrial Light and Magic that created the maelstrom sequence for Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End (Nominated for Best Visual Effects). During his years at Rhythm and Hues, Ken worked on The Golden Compass and Life of Pi, which both went on to win the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. Ken is proud to have worked closely with the Art Directors and George Miller on Happy Feet (Best Animated Film 2006) doing effects development as well as going on set and on location to film assets for the films. Ken recently completed working on Laika's Missing Link. He is available for both remote work from his home in Portland and on site work depending on locations.
